The town of Mafrica was formed around the town of Motta, Filocastro. In 73BC Spartacus was assisted by the Mafricas to fight the Romans. The Romans won and crucified 70,000 victims. The rest of the Mafricas that survived settled in southern Calabria. Below is the family tree documented from the 19th century to today.
